“When we are born, we cry that we are come to this great stage of fools.”
It is with great sadness that I must report that the Phase 1 Honda Odyssey Camper has reached the end of the road.
In the end, it wasn’t a mechanical failure, or rust that ended its young 14-year-old life, but an inattentive driver. Hit hard from behind, the sliding doors were difficult to open afterward. So it likely has frame damage and probably isn’t worth repairing.
I sold the Phase 1 Odyssey to a friend a few months back and am happy to say that it gave its life protecting the occupants. Everyone walked away with just some minor aches and pains, but the collision was hard enough to push it forward into the next car, resulting in front fascia damage.
At 160,000 miles, we hardly knew thee. The Phase 1 Odyssey Camper is dead.
Long live the Phase 2 Odyssey Camper!
